Globally, there is an accelerating realization of the need to totally re-think business practices and lifestyles in the light of climate change and unsustainable use of the planet’s resources. There is also a new awareness of the injustices of international trade, and the connection between poverty eradication and people living in peace. On a local level, to escape from poverty the poor need real, dignified, well-paid employment opportunities, created by commercial businesses which have a concern for holistic development, of the communities in which they are based.
